Merry Christmas Eve! If Christmas isn’t your thing, then happy Thursday!
Given the fact that tomorrow’s the holiday, there won’t be a Morning Skate tomorrow. Feel free to use this one to skate ‘til your heart’s content.
Yesterday, the Bruins’ schedule was unveiled, and while it didn’t really contain anything shocking, the number of back-to-backs against the same team was pretty interesting.
Such a schedule had been rumored in the past, but I don’t remember ever seeing the league confirm it prior to yesterday’s release.
It makes sense from a travel perspective, as teams should be able to remain in one location for 4-5 days; this will likely help with health protocols as well.
It will be interesting to see if these mini-series increase the tension between the teams as well. You’d have to think that one team beating another, say, 3-0 then 4-0 in back-to-back games would help brew a little contempt.
We’ll see! Enjoy the holidays, and if you’re in Massachusetts, be safe in the windy/rainy weather headed our way.
Back at it on Monday for the last week (!) of 2020.
Today’s highlight
Rene Rancourt’s Christmas Special was always one of the funniest moments of the holiday season. Poor Ron Poster always had trouble keeping pace with Rene on the organ.
