David Pastrnak came into tonight’s game against Montreal in a terrible, horrible slump: he hadn’t scored in 4 whole games.
THE HORROR.
Tonight, he decided to get back in the goal column, then he did it again, and then one more time for good measure.
Pastrnak scored his 39th, 40th, and 41st goals of the season over the course of the first and second periods.
The goals gave him his second hat trick of the season against the Montreal Canadiens, and (for now) propelled him back into 1st place in the league’s goal-scoring race, 1 ahead of Auston Matthews and Alexander Ovechkin.
Let us relive the goals, in all their glory:
Here’s 39...
And 40...
Annnnnnnnd 41!
It should be noted that I’m posting this during the second intermission, so.........plenty of time to force me to come back and edit this post!
