The Bruins announced this morning that defenseman Urho Vaakanainen has been recalled from Providence on an emergency basis.
Vaakanainen didn’t play for Providence last night. They played in Bridgeport, but the game didn’t start until 7; presumably, the Bruins got the word that Jeremy Lauzon would have a hearing today and had Vaakainen get up to Bedford to get on the plane to Detroit.
As for Lauzon, the team thinks he’ll be sitting:

Team “anticipating something” with Jeremy Lauzon. As such, John Moore stays in alongside Matt Grzelcyk.
Brandon Carlo and Danton Heinen return.
Joakim Nordstrom is out but could return on Wednesday. pic.twitter.com/F5HpbO46iN
Speaking of Nordstrom, the team placed him on injured reserve today, which is a bit odd, as you can see above that Bruce Cassidy thinks he might be ready mid-week.
Nordstrom going on IR may be nothing more than a roster move to create space.
Anyways, with Brandon Carlo back in the lineup today, it looks like the Bruins are preemptively holding Lauzon out, since John Moore is still playing.
The basics: Carlo is back, Lauzon is out, Moore is still in, Vaakanainen is up.
My head hurts.
