A new month has begun, making today the day the NHL takes a look back at the month that was. In doing so, the league determined that David Pastrnak should be named the league’s third star for the month of February.

Pastrnak had himself a pretty great second month of the year, recording 19 points in 14 games. He had 10 goals and 9 assists, which is...NOT BAD.

A highlight of the month was the hat trick he recorded against Montreal back on Feb. 12th, his fourth hat trick of the season. Per the NHL, Pastrnak also had 7 multi-point games and 4 game-winning goals last month.

He was edged out by first star Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers, who had 10G-13A-23PTS in 14 games, and Mika Zibanejad of the New York Rangers, who had 11G-9A-20PTS in 15 games.

As the calendar turns to March, Pastrnak remains the NHL’s leader in goals, while also remaining the leader in your hearts.
