The University of Maine Black Bears announced today on Twitter that their star goaltender, Jeremy Swayman, signed an Entry Level Contract with the Boston Bruins!

Swayman since joining the Black Bears has not been below a .915 in SV% much in his career and leads Hockey East in SV%, though part of that comes down to how the Black Bears play hockey: Swayman’s play in Hockey East has been “bouyed” by the Bears being exceptionally porous on defense. This year he had 175 more shots put on him than the next guy in the top ten goalies. Swayman also was a participant at the 17-18 World Juniors where...he was not playing much. He probably should’ve been, if you remember how goaltending was such a confusing mess for that WJC.

Regardless, it appears Swayman can just chill out at home until the great social distancing of 2020 is over, then he’ll likely join the Providence Bruins.

Welcome to the Black and Gold, Jeremy!
