The first period was a whirlwind of emotions. Just over five minutes into the game, the Bruins would head to the powerplay as Ondrej Kase was elbowed up high.
Unfortunately for the Bruins, that was the start of the downfall. Just seconds into the powerplay, Anthony Cirelli scored a shorthanded goal.
Later on in the same powerplay, Sergachev would score to put the Lighting up 2-0.
The Bruins would dominate the period outside of that, outshooting the Lightning 14-5, but the two rivals would head to the room with a 2-0 score.
The Lightning came out with some buzz in the second period and were able to add to their lead.
After that, all hell broke loose. We saw what was essentially a line brawl towards the end of the period.
A couple of minutes later, Charlie McAvoy got the Bruins on the board.
Then Sean Kuraly scored to bring the Bruins to within one.
Tampa would take some of the momentum back b scoring a powerplay goal early in the third.
However the Bruins would get the Garden going once again with a powerplay goal of their own.
The Bruins were unable to tie the game. With the net empty, the Bolts managed to score another.
