That’s right, folks. The Morning Skate is back!
Why? Well, frankly, there’s not much going on right now, but we still want to be able to share highlights, thoughts, and give you all a place to toss around conversation topics in the comments.
The Morning Skate, for those unfamiliar, is an open thread. Talk about whatever you want: your plans for the day, your lunch, the Bruins’ prospects for the restart, anything. Just be respectful to each other, and that’s about it.
Each day’s Skate is going to have a random highlight and a topic for conversation too. Will we get a whole bunch of you to engage in the comments? Maybe, maybe not. But either way, the space will be there.
Highlight of the day
A superman save by Tuukka Rask! This series often gets overshadowed due to the calamitous collapse that occurred in the next series, but this match-up with Buffalo was WILD.
Off the top of my head, things that come to mind: Thomas Vanek’s series-changing injury at the (accidental-ish?) hands of Johnny Boychuk, Boychuk laying out Matt Ellis, the save above, Dennis Wideman’s one-timed rocket goal, Miroslav Satan’s 2OT game-winner, Satan’s series-clinching goal...it was a good one.
Question of the day
If you could have one Bruins-related jersey, which would it be? It doesn’t have to be a Bruins jersey; for example, you might choose a Bobby Orr Oshawa Generals jersey.
For me, the one I’ve wanted for a while is a Brad Marchand Halifax Mooseheads alterate, the one with the script logo. Hard to find though.
Discuss.
