Friday is here, folks.

Friday! Another week comes to a close.

You may be looking at this post and asking yourself “why is there a picture of Brandon Bochenski?” Good question!

There’s no answer, really. He crossed my mind while I was looking for pictures of a random Bruin to use for the photo for this thread.

As a fun fact, Bochenski is currently the mayor of Grand Forks, North Dakota. He was elected this past June. Weird, wild stuff.

I’m not sure if he’s the only former Bruin to officially be the mayor of a town/city, but I can’t imagine there have been many.

It’s worth remembering that former Bruin Jiri Slegr was briefly a member of Czech Parliament too.

This has been your daily dose of Bruins in Politics.

Anyways, what’s on tap?

Today’s highlight

Bochenski arrived in Boston when the Bruins sent Kris Versteeg to Chicago in exchange for the forward. Not exactly the best deal of all time.

Bochenski would finish his NHL career with 68 points in 156 games. Versteeg recorded 358 points over his 11-year NHL career.

However, Bochenski was part of the trade that brough Shane Hnidy, so inadvertantly, he’s responsible for Matty Niskanen not being a pretty little boy anymore.

Good times.

Today’s discussion topic

I’m out of topics. It’s been a long week. What’s your favorite color?
