Well folks, it’s Friday and the Bruins started the 2021 season with a win last night. Not a bad way to head into the weekend!
It’s safe to say that last night’s effort wasn’t exactly a work of art by the Bruins. There were some positives, some negatives, some ugly moments...pretty much what you’d expect from the first game of the season.
It was the first time the Bruins won a shootout since 1934, which is remarkable.
The weirdness of the “every other day” schedule is going to kick in later today, when you realize the Bruins are already playing (again) the Devils (again) on Saturday afternoon.
Pandemic hockey!
Anyways, what’s on tap for the weekend?
Today’s highlight
This was actually the last time the Bruins won a shootout, which is nearly two full years ago.
Boy, a lot of stuff has changed since then!
Today’s discussion topic
Who impressed you last night? Who disappointed? I’d go with Miller for the former, Coyle for the latter.
