After sustaining an upper body injury on Saturday afternoon courtesy of Miles Wood, Ondrej Kase will not play in the Bruins’ first trip to Long Island of the season.
The Bruins’ website has Kase listed as being on injured reserve, so he appears likely to miss more than just today’s game.
In his place, Jack Studnicka will play right wing alongside Nick Ritchie and David Krejci on the second line.
Jake DeBrusk, who has spent the majority of the last few years on Krejci’s left, will instead play 1RW.
Bruce Cassidy also noted that the defensive pairings will remain the same from Saturday’s contest against the Devils, and Tuukka Rask will start in net.
The Bruins will lineup look as follows:
Brad Marchand - Patrice Bergeron - Jake DeBrusk
Nick Ritchie - David Krejci - Jack Studnicka
Anders Bjork - Charlie Coyle - Craig Smith
Trent Frederic - Sean Kuraly - Chris Wagner
Jeremy Lauzon - Charlie McAvoy
Matt Grzelcyk - Brandon Carlo
Jakub Zboril - Kevan Miller
Rask
As for the Islanders, Barry Trotz informed local media that some of the guys that played on Saturday against the Rangers would get a reprieve, but a similar lineup could be expected.
Goaltender Semyon Varlamov is also available to play tonight after missing the Isles’ last game after taking a puck to the neck during warmups.
The Islanders lineup on Saturday:
Anders Lee - Mathew Barzal - Jordan Eberle
Anthony Beauvillier - Brock Nelson - Josh Bailey
Kieffer Bellows - Jean-Gabriel Pageau - Ross Johnston
Matt Martin - Casey Cizikas - Cal Clutterbuck
Adam Pelech - Ryan Pulock
Nick Leddy - Scott Mayfield
Andy Greene - Noah Dobson
