Morning Skate: No offense

None in sight.

Well folks, we’re three games into the 2021 season and YOUR Boston Bruins have scored a whopping three goals.

Perhaps more distressingly, none of those three came at even strength. Special teams or death.

Given the departure of Torey Krug and the absence of David Pastrnak, you would have expected a bit of a drop in offensive production, but this...yikes.

Still, three games. In last night’s game, the B’s actually played pretty well on the whole...just no finish.

The Bruins are also suddenly banged up, with Ondrej Kase headed to IR and Matt Grzelcyk suffering an undisclosed injury last night.

That makes the B’s current stretch of two consecutive off days even more valuable. It’s a shame that this rare 2021 commodity comes so early in the season, but enjoy it while you have it.

The Flyers come to town for two games this week, one on Thursday and one on Saturday.

Today’s highlight

That’s recently retired offensive dynamo Adam McQuaid to you.
