The Bruins’ top prospect got the Bruins’ first goal of the night tonight against the Flyers. It was the first non-preseason goal of his NHL career, and was also the Bruins’ first 5v5 goal of the young season.
That’s a whole bunch of firsts on one goal!
The goal should be a nice confidence boost for Studnicka. While he certainly hasn’t looked out of place at the NHL level, you have to imagine it’s a relief to get that first one out of the way.
It’s the second point of Studnicka’s career, as he earned an assist in his NHL debut last season, an 8-1 drubbing of the Montreal Canadiens.
Given that it’s currently tied in the third, I don’t think tonight’s game will end with the same margin...but here’s to hoping it ends with the same ultimate result.
Congrats to Studnicka! First of many, we all hope.
