Michelle Jay

In the penultimate regular season game Boston will take on the Connecticut Whale.

Just the facts

When: Tonight, 5:30 PM

Where: Herb Brooks Arena, Lake Placid, NY

How to follow: Twitch: NWHL channel

Outlook

Connecticut on paper would have no business in this game. The bubble is proving the hard way that hockey isn’t played on paper. Connecticut will be looking to keep themselves in playoff positioning.

Story Lines

Hungry, Hungry Whale

Connecticut has been the laughingstock of the league for the past few seasons. This year they seem to be clicking at a much higher level, a shootout win against Buffalo and a one goal loss to Metropolitan has Connecticut feeling confident.

Dempsey Down

The Captain got hurt in the waning moments of last night’s game. She was clutching her shoulder and was helped to ht bench. While she remained on the bench she did not return to the game and is being reevaluated by medical staff.

Long Layoff

Tonight is the last game the Pride play until the final day of the regular season on Saturday. The Pride play the last game of the day then against Metropolitan with playoff positioning likely on the line.

Other Games

Buffalo Beauts v Metropolitan Riveters - 8:30 PM

Prediction

The Pride need this. If they lose this game they are in trouble. Boston has had Connecticut’s number of late but clearly this season is a little different. The Pride should come out firing and put this away early.
