NWHL Bubble: Schedule Changes, Pride to take on Buffalo in best of 3

We have changes to the schedule due to the withdrawal of Metropolitan. The Pride will have a chance to earn a playoff spot.

NWHL

Yesterday the Metropolitan Riveters were forced to withdraw from the Lake Placid Bubble due to a rise in COVID-19 cases among their team.

This has caused the league to change how the remaining games will be played. Instead of playing the remaining regular season games and the scheduled seeding games the league has announced a new format. The top three teams, Minnesota, Toronto, and Connecticut, who have pulled away from the bottom two will play a game each against each other to finalize seeding for them.

The bottom two, Boston and Buffalo, will play each other in a best of three series to determine which team will play as the fourth place team in the Isobel Cup semifinals. Boston beat Buffalo 5-1 in their meeting earlier in the bubble.

All games will begin tomorrow Saturday January 30. The Pride and Beauts will open the day at 3 PM. Then on Sunday they will play game two, also at 3 PM. If necessary game three would be Monday at 8:30 PM.
