The Boston Bruins announced the roster for their final preseason game tonight against the Washington Capitals.
As expected, it’s a preview of what opening night will likely look like.
Forwards: Patrice Bergeron, Anton Blidh, Charlie Coyle, Jake DeBrusk, Nick Foligno, Trent Frederic, Taylor Hall, Erik Haula, Karson Kuhlman, Curtis Lazar, Brad Marchand, Tomas Nosek, David Pastrnak, Craig Smith, Jack Studnicka and Chris Wagner
Defense: Brandon Carlo, Connor Clifton, Derek Forbort, Matt Grzelcyk, Charlie McAvoy, John Moore, Mike Reilly and Jakub Zboril
Goalies: Troy Grosenick, Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman
Here’s how lines looked from this morning’s pregame skate:
Lines:
— Fluto Shinzawa (@FlutoShinzawa) October 6, 2021
Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
Hall-Coyle-Smith
DeBrusk-Haula-Foligno
Frederic-Nosek-Lazar
Forbort-McAvoy
Reilly-Carlo
Grzelcyk-Clifton
Ullmark
Grosenick
These lines and defensive pairings don’t come as a shock, as it’s what’s been projected from practices and line/defensive combos from the other five preseason games.
This game will also be Coyle’s first of the preseason. While Studnicka has excelled in these exhibition games, he’s the odd-center out in Coyle’s return.
Ullmark is slated to start in net as Bruce Cassidy will get another look at the goaltender ahead of determining who gets the opening-night nod. Cassidy has said that both goaltenders, Ullmark and Swayman, will see plenty of time this month regardless of who’s in net on October 16.
Puck drops at 7 pm!
