Well folks, it’s Wednesday!
Believe it or not, the Bruins aren’t playing again today. Back at it tomorrow. Scheduling is bad, we’re all annoyed, etc.
While they weren’t playing in a game yesterday, the Bruins still acquitted themselves quite well, at least in some off-ice news.
Carlo on Beach's interview:
— Conor Ryan (@ConorRyan_93) November 2, 2021
"He's doing it to put a stop to things like this and once you see it, you see the emotion involved with it and just gain an understanding for the fact that things like this do happen. His message is very clear that you don't have to be alone in that." pic.twitter.com/QUBX4duIHK
While it doesn’t do anything to rectify the situation as a whole, it’s reassuring to see that the Bruins (at least in the locker room) have the right mindset about all this terrible stuff.
Where players like Duncan Keith, Patrick Kane, and Jonathan Toews have appeared tone-deaf at best and ignorant at worst, guys like Taylor Hall, Patrice Bergeron, and Brandon Carlo appear to want to be part of the solution.
Carlo is the Bruins’ representative to the Player Association, and he noted that there were a lot of people demanding answers of Don Fehr & Company on a call this week.
Nothing can undo what happened to Kyle Beach, but maybe this generation of players can be the one to ensure nothing like it happens again.
Today’s discussion topic
Patrice Bergeron likely won’t play for too much longer, meaning the Bruins will, at some point soon, need a new captain. Who is it?
