Morning Skate: Presidential

A day off for some people.

Monday! In the United States, it’s Presidents’ Day, thought I guess it’s known as Washington’s Birthday now?

Either way, it’s a federal holiday, meaning it’s an off day for many. If you’re off today, enjoy! If not, well...enjoy anyways.

The Bruins will have themselves a series of off days thanks to one of the New Jersey games being cancelled due to COVID-19.

It’s probably a bit disappointing for the team to head into a mini-break on a losing note, but you can’t have too many complaints about how the Bruins’ season has gone thus far.

Yesterday (Happy Valentine’s Day!) marked one month since the Bruins’ season kicked off against New Jersey, and they’ve only lost in regulation twice.

The B’s have played 14 games, and have only dropped a total of six points. That’s a pace of nearly 129 points over a full 82-game season.

Obviously it’d be tough to maintain that pace over a full season, but it’s impressive regardless.

Back at it on Thursday!

Are you off today? Seems like one of those holidays that’s very hit-or-miss if you work in the private sector.
