A former Bruin is heading home.

Tuesday is here! The Bruins still aren’t playing, but one Bruin is now a former Bruin.

After being placed on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract, Par Lindholm has gone home to play for Skelleftea AIK.

It was a quiet end to Lindholm’s NHL career, though you can’t really fault him for leaving: rather than being a taxi squad guy, he’s going home to get regular minutes.

And it really is a homecoming for him, as Lindholm grew up just 25 kilometers from Skelleftea in Kusmark, and spent parts of eight seasons playing for the team at various levels.

Lindholm ended up playing 47 games for the Bruins over two seasons, recording three goals and three assists (though he wasn’t really brought here to be a point-getter).

Skelleftea AIK is kind of like the Bruins of the SHL, in a way: per the team’s Wikipedia page, six of the team’s players are hometown guys, born in Skelleftea.

GOTTA LOVE THE LOCAL BOYS.

Today’s highlight

Happy trails, Par.
