Before Don Sweeney pulls the plug on a trade to acquire a forward, he will see if in-house candidates can help spark their lifeless offense at five-on-five.
Zach Senyshyn, who has five goals and four assists in 11 games for the Providence (ahem...Marlborough) Bruins, received the call-up in order to help spark the big club’s offense.
Senyshyn has a goal in two assists in six career NHL games, spanning the past two seasons.
Senyshyn will skate on the fourth line with Sean Kuraly and Jack Studnicka.
Jake DeBrusk will also draw back in after a game as a healthy scratch.
Here's what to expect:
Brad Marchand - Patrice Bergeron - David Pastrnak
DeBrusk - David Krejci - Nick Ritchie
Trent Frederic - Charlie Coyle - Craig Smith
Kuraly - Studnicka - Senyshyn
Matt Grzelcyk - Charlie McAvoy
Jakub Zboril - Connor Clifton
Jarred Tinordi - Urho Vaakanainen
If these lines hold, it'll be the first time all three first round picks from that famed 2015 first round play in the same NHL game.
One for the scrapbook!
In net, Jaroslav Halak will start, as Tuukka Rask will not dress again.
He is still dealing dealing with a lingering issue from Sunday’s contest with the New Jersey Devils.
In other injury news, Ondrej Kase skated on his own today, which is promising!
Puck drop is slated for 7 PM.
