Morning Skate: Refresh rate

Ah, that’s better.

It’s Friday morning, and you can almost guarantee that Jake DeBrusk feels like a new man waking up this morning.

DeBrusk was Scapegoat #1 for Bruins fans thus far this season, and while a single goal won’t undo all of that, it’s a start.

Some of the criticism of DeBrusk is valid, though the cracks about his (alleged) weight gain and appearance are childish and dumb.

Still, he has underperformed to this point in the season, and a few games like last night will certainly help put the early part of the season in the rearview mirror.

Elsewhere last night, Jaroslav Halak looked good, the first line was the first line, and Georgiev certainly didn’t look like Henrik Lundqvist Redux in net.

Hey, we’ll take it. A win is a win!

What’s on tap for today?

Today’s highlight

David Pastrnak sure does like scoring against the Rangers.

Today’s discussion topic

Your thoughts on Zach Senyshyn’s performance? I thought he looked good and deserves another look.

He used his skating well, and should have had an assist on a Sean Kuraly tap-in.
