Morning Skate: Digging deep

A thin corps on the back end.

NHL: Boston Bruins at Pittsburgh Penguins Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

It is Wednesday, my dudes.

A nice win for the Bruins last night, and a great regular season debut for Dan Vladar.

I thought more people would complain when I called it his debut in Adam’s lines post, but maybe we’ve all collectively decided to forget Vladar’s appearance against Tampa last summer. Good call.

While Vladar’s play was great and Oskar Steen was fine, the situation on the Bruins’ blue line is cause for concern.

With Brandon Carlo already out with a concussion, Kevan Miller injured, and Jeremy Lauzon injured, last night wasn’t the best time to lose another defenseman.

But it looks like that’s exactly what happened, as I can’t imagine Jarred Tinordi will bounce right back after that hit from Brandon Tanev.

If Tinordi is out, who draws in? Urho Vaakanainen is a left shot like Tinordi, as is Jack Ahcan.

The Bruins do have options, but man...it’s been a rough run on the blue line as of late.
