Happy Monday! It is officially Trade Deadline Day, a holiday for TSN.
The Bruins played last night (kind of), getting absolutely steamrolled by the Washington Capitals.
It isn’t every day that you see eight goals scored total in a hockey game, let alone eight by a single team, but...yeah. That’s what we got last night. Good times.
Last night’s game was the epitome of a “burn the tape game,” a contest that isn’t really worth reviewing. The Bruins were playing with a comically patchwork defense and one of their two rookie goalies, so you knew it was going to be bad.
Sure, some will say “well, it shouldn’t have been THAT bad,” and there’s validity to that.
However, whether it was 4-1 or 15-1, it’s still the same two dropped points. Pack it up and move on.
Anyways, we’ll have you covered for the deadline today as best as we can. If you’re on Twitter, always remember to look for the blue check mark; don’t get fooled by the fake Pierre LeBrun.
We’ll also have a deadline open thread coming up at 7 AM today, so this thread may not get a lot of life.
Still...discuss.
Today’s highlight
Hey, last time the Bruins lost to the Capitals by seven goals, they ended up going pretty far that season.
Today’s discussion topic
I’m not sure this is really a discussion topic, but I feel bad for Dan Vladar. Getting tossed in the crease behind that defense is a recipe for disaster.
