Morning Skate: Canada Day

Hey, it’s Canada’s July 4!

Happy Thursday, folks.

If you’re Canadian, today is Canada Day! Enjoy it.

If you’re American, you’re one step closer to the long weekend! Almost there.

If you’re elsewhere, well...it’s Thursday.

Things remain relatively quiet in Bruins Land, with little noise expected prior to next month’s Expansion Draft and NHL Draft.

The B’s did announce yesterday that Development Camp will be held from August 2 through August 6 at Warrior Arena, so that was a bit of news.

Trent Frederic also had his post-new-deal media availability yesterday, and said about what you’d expect: he thought it was a “good year” for him personally, thought it had ups and downs, is excited about improving next year, etc.

Frederic also said that he’s striving for a big role next season, but knows he has to work for it.

If nothing else, he’s got the right attitude, that’s for sure.

Of note: Frederic took the Zoom call from his room at his parents’ house in St. Louis.

Sometimes, you forget many of these guys are 20-something kids.

Today’s discussion topic

Take Bobby Orr out of the occasion, and who are the five best Canadian-born Bruins?
