Have your say: Rate the performance of the Bruins players in 2021!

You get to pick.

It’s a staple of summer: sunburns, thunderstorms, and Stanley Cup of Chowder casting judgement on the Bruins!

Each year, we do a series of player ratings/reviews designed to take a look back at the 2021 season and close the book on each player’s chapter.

Normally, we do surveys in our staff chat and come up with the ratings on our own. We’re going to do that again this year, but there’s an added twist: we’re polling all of you as well!

Using Google Forms, we’re going to give readers a chance to rank each player’s performance over the course of the entire season (regular and playoffs) on a scale of 1 (bad) to 10 (excellent).

There’s no real science behind it: rank with your heart. I believe in you.

As ratings out of ten can be tough to break out, we came up with these “numbers to grades” comparisons:

  • A: 9-10
  • B: 7-8
  • C: 5-6
  • D: 3-4
  • F: 1-2

If you’re looking at a guy and don’t really think there’s enough to rate him on (for example, Oskar Steen), you can consider going with a 5 as a sort of “sure, he was here and did some stuff.”

(We’re doing several of the borderline guys in a group review anyways.)

Once we get all the rankings tallied, we’ll start with the individual player ratings and coast our way through the summer.

My guess is that we’ll all be pretty aligned on most guys, but I can see some discrepancies forming around some of the fourth-line types.

The form process should work on mobile as well as desktop, but let me know in the comments if you have any trouble.

Rank the forwards!

Rank the defense and goalies!
