Bruins select Oskar Jellvik 149th Overall

Another Center!

I think PJ’s had a real impact on this draft for Don, because he’s picked up a bit of a swede tooth, ah-hyuck.

Anyhow, The Bruins have selected 5’11 lefty center/left winger Oskar Jellvik from the Djurgardens system in Sweden. He’ll be starting his season with Djurgardens’ U20 squad in the J20 Nationell, with the chance for him to go play for Djurgardens proper if he continues to succeed at the level he has with the J20 team. Though Jellvik stated during his interview that he may consider the NCAA, and mentioned BU by name when discussing his plans, keeping his options open.

From what we can gather he had a pretty strong season with the J20 team last year, having 12 points in 13 games.

Here’s a quote from Steve Kourianos regarding Jellvik:

...His head always is on a swivel and he looks to cover gaps, although Jellvik can be guilty of skating in all directions without any structure. Still, Jellvik’s puck skills are legitimate and he is dangerous with or without an opponent marking him.

Welcome Oskar to the Boston Bruins!
