It is Wednesday, my dudes.

Yesterday, the Bruins announced the jersey numbers for their new free agent signings — this passes as exciting news in August.

Your new numbers are as follows:

  • Nick Foligno - 17
  • Derek Forbort - 28
  • Linus Ullmark - 35
  • Erik Haula - 56
  • Tomas Nosek - 92

At first glance, Nosek gets first place for me. High jersey numbers rule. We need more players in the 90s.

Nosek also gets the award for most unique choice: per Hockey Reference, he’ll be just the third player in franchise history to wear 92.

Forbort gets the “least creative” award, as he’ll be the 28th player to wear 28. IT WAS MEANT TO BE.

In descending order of creativity: Haula is the 7th player to wear 56, Ullmark is the 9th player to wear 35, and Foligno will be the 21st player to wear 17.

Foligno, of course, chose 17 in part due to his father, Mike, wearing that number during his career.

That, and his love and respect for Petr Tenkrat.

If you landed yourself a gig as a professional athlete, what would your jersey number be?
