Happy Monday, folks.
Hopefully everyone stayed safe in Tropical Storm/Hurricane Henri — the storm took a bit of an inland track and missed Greater Boston for the most part, but dumped a ton of rain and wind on Connecticut, Rhode Island, and western Massachusetts.
(As an aside, every time I heard the weather people pronounce the storm in its French form of “en-REE,” I thought of the Canadiens. Don’t put that on me, weather people.)
Ideally, by the time you read this, things have calmed down.
Things remain quite calm in BruinsLand, par for the course as we start the last full week of August.
One note from Friday: Providence Bruins head coach Ryan Mougenel had his “hey, you’re head coach now” media availability, and confirmed that we should all expect to see Fabian Lysell soon.
From Ty Anderson’s 98.5 The Sports Hub article:
“He’s going to come to rookie camp,” new P-Bruins head coach Ryan Mougenel said. “We’re excited about him. I think the one big thing for us with the Bruins is that we’re just taking it day-by-day. The rookie camp is a great starting point for him and we’re going to work from there and see where it goes.”
LYSELLMANIA.
To be honest, I’m not clear on what “rookie camp” Mougenel is talking about, as I didn’t think the P-Bruins had a separate rookie camp, but maybe they do.
I’d be surprised if we didn’t see Lysell at regular B’s training camp as well, provided the two camps don’t overlap.
It’s a shame the B’s aren’t participating in one of those preseason rookie tournaments like they have in years past (including when David Pastrnak was a youngster); those are always a good chance to get the new kids some ice time.
Anyways, what’s on tap for today?
