I had wondered aloud in a post earlier this summer why the Bruins weren't playing in a prospect tournament this off-season.
As it turns it, they are! It just took a while for the details to be released.
The team announced on Friday that it will participate in the 2021 Prospects Challenge in Buffalo, with games beginning on September 17.
The B's will be joined in the round robin tournament by the host Buffalo Sabres and the New Jersey Devils.
The B's will play Buffalo on Friday, September 17 at 7 PM and Saturday, September 18 at 3 PM.
They'll then finish the tournament by playing New Jersey on Sunday, September 19 at 1 PM.
If you're local to Buffalo or want to travel, the games will be open to the public for $10 a pop.
It's unclear whether or not these games will be streamed online, but in the past, individual teams occasionally broadcast streams on their websites or Facebook pages, so we'll see.
The Bruins' roster for the tournament hasn't been released yet.
Given how highly they've drafted in the past few years, playing against rookies from teams like New Jersey and Buffalo should be a good test for the Bruins' kids.
