Hockey: PWHL-Minnesota at Boston Brian Fluharty-USA TODAY Sports

UPDATE: Tonight’s game has been postponed due to weather impacting Ottawa’s ability to travel. No make up date has been given at this time, tickets for tonight will be good for the makeup date when it is announced.

Just the facts

When: Tonight, 6:00 PM

Where: Tsongas Arena, Lowell, MA

How to follow: NESN, NESN 360, PWHL YouTube (Out of Market)

Know your enemy

  • Hayley Scamurra, Mikayla Grant-Mentis, Daryl Watts: While MGM thought she scored the first goal in franchise history it was Scamurra that netted it a little bit later after review reversed the forms tally. Locals are likely familiar with all three of these players and they should all make a mark in tonights game.
  • Emerance Maschmeyer, Rachel McQuigge, Sandra Abstreiter: Masch is their clear top goalie but the PC alum Abstrieter will likely warn some playing time as will McQuigge.

Game notes

  • It was a less then stellar start to the last game though many account the first home game jitters for that.
  • Boston is the first team to get a second crack at home as they take on Ottawa which started at home against Montreal.
  • Ottawa was the first home team to score a goal but was unable to hold on as they were taken to OT by Montreal and eventually lost.
  • Lines on Wednesday had some huge names matched together. Coach Kissel gave no indications after the last game that she planned any big changes.
  • Rumblings of a Soderberg start for tonight might come true which would leave Frankel rested for a trip to Montreal to initiate a new chapter in the rivalry with that city.
