Frank Vatrano has had a truly incredible year.
From college free-agent to AHL prodigy to Boston fan favorite, it's been a meteoric rise for the East Longmeadow native.
Now, he's going to top off a truly incredible personal year by representing his country at the IIHF World Championships.
This news has come somewhat as a surprise, with Vatrano not on the preliminary roster for Team USA, but it seems that his 36-goal-in-36-game AHL season coupled with his strong play for the Bruins has caught the eyes of the national team. Vatrano will join the team in Russia, whose first game is against Canada on May 6th. Do Boston proud, Frankie, and good luck!Honored to represent @usahockey in the world championships ! Off to Russia
