The defending CWHL champions, the Boston Blades, will be touring the Clarkson Cup around the city on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
"This is an amazing opportunity for the team to celebrate their win and bring the Clarkson Cup to many of our favorite places around the city," said Boston Blades General Manager Krista Patronick. "We are proud to add yet another championship win to Boston’s long list, and look forward to sharing this with our passionate fans and the people of our city."
The team will begin at noon at the Boston Marathon Finish Line, on Boylston Street in front of the Boston Public Library. From there, they will head to the Boston common area around 1:30 p.m. About an hour later, they will gather at the statue of Bobby Orr in front of the TD Bank Garden and then proceed to the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park by 3:00 p.m. The tour will conclude at the Union Oyster house between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. where the Blades will be shucking oysters. Photo opportunities will be available throughout the afternoon.
The tour will commemorate the season opener on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 8:00 p.m. against the Calgary Inferno at their new home arena, the New England Sports Center in Marlborough.
This is just the first event the team will host with the Clarkson Cup. On Nov. 13 they will take the cup to UMass Lowell's game against Maine for fan photo opportunities. Other yet to be announced events are also on the way.
