The Boston Blades announced today that Brian McCloskey will become their new head coach. They have already selected a new GM, Krista Patronick. McCloskey has a long career with the University of New Hampshire stretching back to the early 90's, and has been head coach of their women's ice hockey team from 2002 to 2013.  You can read the full press release from the CWHL here.

Another nugget of information in this press release comes in the form of a quote about McCloskey from Blades defense Kacey Bellamy. This would seem the first indication of a player staying with the Boston Blades rather than choosing to join an NWHL club. Olympians who played for the Blades last season have remained unspoken for officially for the 2015-16 season, though many have been tied to the NWHL or its teams informally. Bellamy was present at the Boston Pride camp event at Ristuccia, though she did not skate.

The Blades fired head coach Digit Murphy and GM Aronda Kirby amid a dispute over the Blades' name and logo rights.

I plan on reaching out to Patronick for information on the Blades personnel and will update you as more information becomes available.
