While many off-season activities for the Boston Blades are underway, the road to their roster next season begins next month.
The Blades announced that the team will hold their 2016 Prospects Camp on Sunday, May 22 at the Rodman Arena in Walpole. The event is open to college graduates, and those interested can register online to attend.
The camp will put prospective players through skills and scrimmage sessions and introduce them to the CWHL and the Blade organization. Though no specific players were mentioned in the team's release, "veteran Blades players" and head coach Brian McCloskey will be in attendance.
"We're very excited to introduce the first annual prospects camp, which will serve as a way for us to introduce ourselves to recent college graduates and determine who is a good fit for the team," said General Manager Krista Patronick. "We will get an early chance to see how these players might work in our depth chart, and how they will jive with each other in the locker room."
With the team looking to rebound after a one-win season, the outcome of this event may go a long way to determining if the Blades can add some much needed depth to their roster next year.
