Wednesday Morning Skate: Acceptable Losses

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

It feels like a lot of the games the Bruins are losing this year are "acceptable," so to say. Many of them, viewed individually, wouldn't be that bad if you plugged them into any of the last 5 or so years. But they've been adding up.

Last night's game was exactly the sort of game I'm talking about. Shootout loss while dropping 2 on Pekka Rinne? That's a fine way to end a 3+ game win streak. Not so much when it comes after the mess the Bruins have made of the season so far.

It's frustrating to watch in aggregate. And if it keeps up, we might not even get to watch them completely fall apart in the playoffs. Woof. Not even 2009-10 was that bad, and 2009-10 was baaad.

It'll be interesting to see how much farther down they slip and what season-"saving" move Chiarelli makes. I'm not going to lie, I hope he doesn't trade for any defensemen, because he does a really bad job of choosing those.

Anyways, what's on tap?
