United States Women win third World Cup

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

I'm not even going to go into the yesterday's Roughrider 2OT loss to Toronto. The much more important game was on the other side of Canada, in Vancouver. The United States played Japan in a rematch of the previous World Cup final. Luckily, the result this time was better than last time - a 5-2 win. And not only that, but Carli Lloyd scored a hat trick in the first 16 minutes. She scores the first, second, and fourth goal (the half-court shot) here:

This is the third World Cup win by the United States, which is pretty sweet. The hockey team really needs to step up, now. Luckily, the NWHL should help out with that.

Anyways, how was your holiday weekend?
