The Providence Bruins will open up the second round of the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs tonight at home against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The Bruins advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals after rallying from a two-games-to-zero series deficit against the Hershey Bears in the first round. The Penguins swept the fourth-seeded Binghamton Senators.
There will be two lineup changes tonight for Bruce Cassidy's team. Matt Bartkowski was called up to the parent club in Boston yesterday. Zach Trotman will replace him in the lineup. The Carmel, Indiana native is a big, rangy defenseman who played his college hockey at Lake Superior.
Also in the lineup tonight is Jared Knight who will be replacing Graham Mink. He'll be on the rightwing with Kyle MacKinnon and Trent Whitfield. Knight was a second round draft pick of Boston in the 2010 draft. He played junior hockey with the London Knights of the OHL.
