Can Austin Czarnik get Providence back on track?

With Vatrano and Khokhlachev out of the picture for now, who will step it up to give Providence some much needed offense?

Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

Frank Vatrano and Alexander Khokhlachev were both among the league leaders in points in the AHL, they were pretty much the whole offense while they were in the lineup. Now with Vatrano up in Boston, and Khokhlachev out after hand surgery, the offense is struggling to say the least as they dropped another game Friday night.

Providence has not won a game since October 30th, a game where they had both Khokhlachev and Vatrano in the lineup. They both had two goals a piece in that game to secure a win. Since that game, the Bruins have scored over three goals only one time in that span. They will need some different guys to step it up if they want to see any success with Vatrano and Khokhlachev out of the lineup. They may just have a guy in Austin Czarnik.

Austin Czarnik is a guy who could help lighten the load a bit with a depleted offense. Czarnik missed some time with an injury and made his return back to the lineup on Wednesday. He had a goal and assist in those two games to add to his season total of 7 points in six games played this year. He and fellow line-mate Seth Griffith could be a respectable line in Providence in this upcoming stretch of games. The Miami of Ohio alum seems to be a pretty solid signing by the Bruins, as he might just be the guy who runs the show of this very depleted Providence offense in the time being.
