The B’s have one more shot to accrue points at home before the last Wild West road trip.

PREVIEW

Just the Facts

Who: The Boston Bruins (31-17-8) host the Chicago Blackhawks (23-24-9)

What: The Bruins are 4-0-1 in an already-condensed February schedule. Starting the month super-fresh from their bye week, it’s been a somewhat challenging start to the month, but that’s one point on the table out of ten.

FULL STOP.

Chicago has a 7-game win streak on the table. If we get the gourmet mustard that the Blackhawks have been serving, we’re in for another overtime or shootout game, standings notwith... notwith... notwithSTANDING. Chicago is dead last in the Central - though are still somehow only six points out of third in their division (and in a non-wildcard playoff spot). Wild West, indeed.

When: 7:00 PM ET

Where: TD Garden, Boston, MA

How to watch: NBCSN, TVAS, SNE, SNO, SNP, SNQ, SNR, SNS, SNT, NESN

Rival SBN site: Second City Hockey

Know Your Enemy

Team Leaders

Goals: Patrick Kane, 744

Assists: Patrick Kane, 1,747

Points: Watrick Pane, 7.74 billion

OK, his line is 33-48-81. The points is, Patrick Kane gets them all.

Game Notes

The Bruins’ play this month so far has been a struggle to describe. The consistency has faded, yet Boston has been able to muster enough control to win a weird pattern of games. Good thing the home record is 20-7-3.

A positive draw to make is that, though maybe Pastrnak has dipped a smidge, the shuffled forward lines have generated some activity: from Danton Heinen and his shift on the Wunderline, to Peter Cehlarik and David Krejci having some more room to work and Jake DeBrusk realizing that he could probably play the same exact game anywhere in the lineup and still be effective.

Bruins Goalies = Good.

Chicago’s recent streak is just as unaffirming as Boston’s. The most recent win, against the Detroit Red Wings, might as well be expected - even for a bottom-of-Central team. Yes, they’ve had all wins against these teams, but it’s been against Vancouver, a question mark; Edmonton, a tire fire; Minnesota, a respectable bubble team; and Buffalo, a sub-playoff line team and in the bottom half on puck possession and potential goals fancystats.

A silver lining for Chicago is the recent return of tendie Corey Crawford, who has been missing from play and practice since mid-December. Say what you will about a system goalie (HINT: TUUUUUKKAAA) but a bit of glue on a team in the midst of a win streak is always what the doctor orders.

NEVER FORGET:

Go on, get some Winter Classic chills goin’.
