TIME FOR ANOTHER BIG GAME, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Time for B's vs. Red Wings.

You're cheering for Montreal to beat Washington (just do it), Carolina to beat Florida (imagine thinking that at the start of the season?) and Tampa (I <3 STAMKOS) to beat Ottawa.

Discuss.

The B's head to Detroit for another (shocking, I know) game with big time playoff implications.

Just the facts

Where: Joe Louis Arena, Detroit

When: 7:30 PM

Watch/listen: NESN, NBCSN, 98.5 The Sports Hub

Rival SBN site: Winging it in Motown

Need to know

Another day, another "big game" for the Bruins. The B's sit three clear of Ottawa for 8th place, and two behind Detroit for 7th. The Wings have a game in hand, so even a regulation win tonight would leave the B's in 8th. To add to the wackiness of all of this: The Senators are only slightly closer to the Bruins than the Bruins are to the 4th/5th place Islanders/Penguins. Weird.

The Wings had themselves a tough month of March, and have been tumbling down the standings for a couple of weeks. Seems like goaltending has been an issue for them, as Petr Mrazek and Jimmy Howard have played a game of "you take it, no you take it" with the starting job.

The Bruins' lineup is pretty up in the air tonight. It seems like Brett Connolly may be ready to go. If that's the case, the whole thing is going to be very interesting. What SHOULD happen is that Connolly should slot in with Kelly and Talbot, with Campbell headed to the press box. Will that happen? hahahaha...

As far as the rearview mirror goes, Ottawa is playing Tampa (Go Stamkos!) and the Panthers are playing Carolina (no help here...). Looking ahead, the Caps are playing Montreal, and the Islanders are playing Columbus. Aim high!

Projected lines

Red Wings (Iast game's lineup)

Abdelkader - Zetterberg - Nyquist

Tatar - Glendening - Helm

? - Weiss - Pulkkinen

Miller - Andersson - Cleary

Ericsson - Kronwall

Quincey - DeKeyser

Smith - Zidlicky

Mrazek

Howard

The key here is "projected." The Wings have several guys on the fence due to injuries. Drew Miller is playing after taking a skate to the face. Jurco is out. Erik Cole is out. Pavel Datsyuk is out. Riley Sheahan is a maybe, and if he goes, it's likely he slots into that question mark spot and the lines are shuffled a bit.

Bruins

Marchand - Bergeron - Smith

Lucic - Spooner - Pastrnak

Soderberg - Krejci - Eriksson

Kelly - Campbell - Talbot/Connolly

Chara - Trotman

Seidenberg - Krug

McQuaid - Bartkowski

Rask

Svedberg

Much like the Wings' lineup, this one is a "who knows?" These were the lines in practice yesterday. Brett Connolly is said to be ready to go and hasn't been ruled out for tonight. Krejci said yesterday he felt he was ready to get back to center. Do the Bruins push Soderberg to a wing and let Smith back up with Bergeron? Where does Connolly slot in? Find out, TONIGHT!!!!!!

Never forget

Old school rumble!
